Rollover wreck closes SB Loop 101 at Guadalupe for hoursPosted: Updated:
TEMPE -- A car lost control on a freeway entrance ramp in Mesa on Thursday morning, rolling over and ejecting its driver, who is in critical condition.
Arizona Department of Public Safety Sgt. Kevin Wood says a young man driving a Cadillac was going too fast on the entrance ramp from the U.S. 60 to Loop 101 when he lost control.
Wood says the man's car rolled through the landscaped area next to the ramp and onto the Loop 101. He was ejected and flung in the middle of the freeway.
Wood says the man was not hit by any cars and is in critical condition. The Cadillac hit a Chevy Blazer, whose driver had minor injuries.
The southbound lanes of the Loop 101 were closed for hours, but were back open to traffic by 8:15 a.m.
