TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A 4-year-old girl is the latest fatality of a car crash in Tucson.
Caia Roden was riding in a Lexus sedan with her mother and who police believe was her grandmother when it was hit by a man driving a Chevy Tahoe on Tuesday morning.
Fifty-five-year-old Lorrie Schlect, who is believed to be Caia's grandmother, died shortly after the crash. Police said Wednesday that Caia died later Tuesday at a hospital.
Caia's 33-year-old mother, who is nine months pregnant, suffered life-threatening injuries and was in a local hospital. Her name was not released.
Tucson police investigators found that the driver of the Tahoe, 29-year-old Richard Kinner, ran a red light before crashing into the Lexus.
Kinner, who was seriously injured, was cited for running a red light, failing to wear his seatbelt, and driving on a suspended license.
