Two accused of cloning and using fraudulent gift cards

SCOTTSDALE – A man and a woman are accused of using fraudulent gift cards to pay in at least four stores.

The Scottsdale Police Department received information on April 8 that Jason Ippolito, 36, and Andrea Walker, 30, were allegedly using fraudulent cards to buy items from Safeway, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Albertson’s.

Detectives located Ippolito on Friday driving a silver Ford van. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Warner and Dobson in Chandler where Ippolito was taken into custody.

Officers conducted a search of his car and discovered about 700 fraudulent and cloned gift cards.

Walker was taken into custody at a home in the 1700 block of west Mariposa Road in Chandler. She was booked on charges of forgery and ID theft.

Ippolito is in custody and faces charges of fraud, schemes, forgery, theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
