Big cool-down this week, chance of sprinkles?

Posted: Updated:

PHOENIX -- On the heels of the hottest day of the year so far-- it was 96 on Sunday -- Mother's Nature is sending us a bit of a cool-down.

It's going to be cloudy and cooler on Monday with the mercury topping out at only 83, but it's going to get even cooler as the week goes on.

We'll jump a bit to the upper 80s on Tuesday, but plan on 72 on Wednesday, and 68 -- yes, 68 -- on Thursday. We're looking at a 20 percents chance of showers both Wednesday and Thursday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the clouds should start to clear out and the temperatures will likely stay in the low to mid 80s.

When will the mercury hit 100° this year?  Take a guess and you could win a new AC system from Ace Air.
