EL MIRAGE -- El Mirage police arrested a 49-year-old man for multiple counts of sexual misconduct after three victims disclosed the abuse.
On April 5, El Mirage police officers were told that a 13-year-old girl had disclosed being molested by a man identified as Simon Lugo Burgos.
The victim told police detectives that Burgos had sexually abused her on three separate occasions at a home near El Mirage and Thunderbird roads.
According to Detective Robert Peoples, the incidents reportedly happened during the summer of 2005 when the victim was 8 years old.
El Mirage detectives discovered that there were possibly two other victims.
The second victim was located and interviewed. The victim disclosed that while living near 184th Avenue and Waddell Road in Surprise she was sexually abused by Burgos. At the time of the alleged sexual abuse incidents, the victim was between 5 and 9 years old.
The third victim, who is now 32 years old, told detectives that she was sexually molested by Burgos when she was between 5 and 9 years old. The victim said the incidents occurred while she was living in Peoria and Glendale.
Peoples said Burgos was taken into custody at a home near Thunderbird and El Mirage roads on Monday afternoon. During questioning, Burgos denied any involvement in any of the incidents.
Burgos was booked into the Maricopa County jail on 13 felony charges, including sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation, sexual abuse and kidnapping.
