MESA -- A man is facing burglary charges after police officers saw him exiting a Mesa home through an open window.

Mesa police Detective Michael Melendez said a woman called to report suspicious activity after an unknown man knocked on her door and checked for a key under the doormat Thursday morning.

When officers arrived at the home near Lindsay Road and Southern Avenue, the woman said the suspect had left, but she noticed a bicycle in front of her neighbor's home that did not belong there.

Officers checked the exterior of the neighbor's house and saw a man exiting through an open window at the rear of the house.

Jeffery D. Struble, 29, was arrested and charged with residential burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.
