PHOENIX -- A woman and two teens were shot Wednesday night in Phoenix in what investigators believe was a gang-related incident.

Phoenix police officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex near 12th Street and Northern Avenue at approximately 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, a 46-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were standing in the parking lot of the complex when they were approached by people in a blue van equipped with an exterior ladder over the cargo door and an exterior spare tire.

Officer Luis Samudio said the driver exchanged words with the victims and fired a gun at them.

The woman was shot in the abdomen and the boy was shot in the left arm.

Samudio said a 14-year-old girl walking past the group toward her apartment was struck by a bullet.

The victims were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the incident was gang-related but the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-4161 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
