Cochise Co. man kills himself after telling authorities he shot his wifePosted: Updated:
FAIRBANK, Ariz. -- Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in the rural community of Fairbank, which is west of Tombstone.
A man reportedly called the Cochise County Sheriff's Office Sunday night and said he had shot his wife and wanted to join her.
Sheriff's deputies and the Border Patrol responded to the home. A Border Patrol helicopter crew advised that shots were fired and a man was lying beside a truck in the front yard.
Deputies found a woman face down near the truck and a man on his back near her. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman's identify is being withheld until her family is notified.
The man was identified as David Urrea Diaz Sr., 50.
The case is still under investigation.
