Elderly woman killed in red-light running crash in Mesa

MESA – A woman is dead after a T-bone collision in Mesa.

The wreck took place on Saturday afternoon near McKellips and Val Vista.

According to Mesa police, a passenger car carrying two elderly women ran the red light at the intersection and was T-boned by another vehicle, reportedly a passenger SUV.

A 93-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries. The other 66-year-old woman was transported to the hospital.

One man who was riding in the SUV was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
