PHOENIX -- A description of a suspect in an attempted robbery and shooting was released today, and police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to his capture.

Police describe the suspect as 16 to 17 years old, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, Hispanic, and with short, light brown hair.

He and a second man are suspected for attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault in an incident that police say occurred on March 26 shortly before midnight.

The two suspects allegedly approached a man in his car in the area of 4300 W. Hubbell St. and demanded his vehicle while the first suspect pointed a gun at him. Police say the victim struggled with the first suspect, who fired the gun and hit the victim in his hand.

Both suspects allegedly ran from the scene, and the first suspect fired more shots at the vehicle.
