Kennedy sharp as D-Backs rout Brewers 12-3Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona's Ian Kennedy held the Brewers' hitters down while the Diamondbacks battered Milwaukee in a 12-3 rout on Thursday.
Kennedy allowed five hits, two by Craig Counsell, and two runs in 5 2-3 innings to finish the spring with 17 strikeouts and five walks in 25 innings.
Justin Upton and Mark Reynolds hit consecutive two-out homers off Brewers starter Randy Wolf in the first. The Diamondbacks added three more runs in the third on Chris Young's leadoff homer and Rusty Ryal's two-run, two-out shot to left.
Wolf went four innings in his final start, allowing five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. He allowed two runs in 16 previous innings.
Casey McGehee hit a two-run homer off Chad Qualls in the bottom of the sixth for Milwaukee.
