Three men arrested in connection to heroin ring

FLAGSTAFF -- Police have arrested three men in connection to a heroin ring after conducting hundreds of hours of surveillance.

According to Sgt. Ryan Beckman of the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, Rene Lugo-Lopez, 28, Javier Guerrero, 29, and Juan Salazar-Uriarte, 23, were taken into custody on multiple drug charges.

In a press release, Beckman said that members of the Northern Arizona Street Crimes Task Force Metro Unit  (METRO) monitored the subjects and "conducted numerous undercover buys" prior to the arrests.

Police also found and confiscated 54 grams of heroin (with a street value of over $5,000), 37 grams of cocaine, two vehicles and a handgun.

Charges against the three men include possession of narcotic drugs for sale, sale of narcotic drugs, weapons misconduct and drug transportation.
