AHS Pet of the Week - Bennie

When rattles, diapers and baby bottles replaced Bennie’s tennis ball, Frisbee and rope toys the 2-year-old Labrador knew his life was about to change drastically. Once the newborn baby arrived, mom and dad decided it was time for Bennie to depart and look for a new home not because this friendly boy didn’t like kids but because they could no longer devote their lives to a four-legged baby.

Heartbroken, Bennie began a new journey in life- finding a forever family, but this journey has had some unexpected turns. A month has passed by and still this friendly and outgoing canine is homeless. His bright, enthusiastic and spirited personality has been overlooked by many, and his potential to be faithful and loyal has been ignored.

Bennie is a happy-go-lucky adventurer who is eager to explore the world and his new life with a new human voyager. Bennie is rather active and energetic so he appreciates VERY long walks, trips to the park, swimming, hiking, jogging and car rides to other interesting places. He is always on the go so in addition to fun outings he will also need a big grassy yard where he can frolic and play ball.

Bennie is partially housetrained, but he is eager to learn new skills and tricks. He is great for active families with playful children, but he will need time to get acquainted with other pets in his new home. A family introduction is highly recommended.

He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee is only $35. This fee includes his neuter surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about Bennie, please call 602- 997-7586 ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A294786 or log on to www.azhumane.org.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter; however, the AHS has many more wonderful pets that also need loving homes. Please take a moment to meet some of the other homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals at the shelter! To see all our adoptable animals right now, www.azhumane.org/findapet.
