Jazz Festival
This year’s Jazz Festival will include 31 high school &  middle school bands, 10 free professional clinics, & 2 evening concerts (7:30 pm at Highland High School in Gilbert).  The Friday evening concert will feature Bob Mintzer, our All Star Combo, and the ASU Concert Jazz Band directed by Michael Kocour.  The Saturday evening concert will feature Wycliffe Gordon, the judges choice band to open the concert (Made up from a middle or high school), our All Star Combo, and the ASU Concert Jazz Band.  The cost is $25 per evening or $40 for both evenings.
Visit  for more information.  This concert will be an incredible event and we are trying to help push music education to new levels in Arizona.
The proceeds will go to funding next years jazz festival and paying for costs that go with a band program.  Since there have been so many cuts, these proceeds are much needed from repairing instruments to scholarship student marching band fees, which are upwards of $650 per year. These students strive to be the best musicians possible and it would be a shame to have some of the band programs cut due to lack of funds.
