GRAND CANYON, Ariz. -- Two Kansas men who were overdue from a hike in the Grand Canyon National Park have been found safe.

Isaac Rabicoff, 25, and Michael Wu, 25, were visiting the Grand Canyon together and obtained a backcountry permit to hike in the Royal Arch and South Bass areas beginning on March 16 and returning on March 20.

On Monday, a member of one of the men's families reported them missing after they failed to return to Kansas as planned. Park rangers launched a search for the hikers.

A helicopter crew spotted them near Royal Arch Tuesday afternoon.

The men said the hike took longer than expected.

Neither man was hurt.
