Crews battle massive fire at 5,000-square-foot Scottsdale home

SCOTTSDALE - Crews battled a massive house fire in Scottsdale near Lone Mountain Parkway and Cave Creek Road late Friday afternoon.

The 5,000 square-foot house was fully engulfed when the Scottsdale Fire Department took a defensive stance on battling the blaze.

According to the Scottsdale Fire Department the house was unoccupied and under construction in the 38000 block of North 108th Street.

The damage is estimated at $524,250.

Scottsdale Fire Department investigators were able to determine based on building inspection records the house was approximately 30-40% complete.

The fire began at 5:45 PM and took about an hour to get under control and nearly extinguished.

Scottsdale fire reports no injuries. Two nearby residences were evacuated as a precaution.

Investigators continue to look into how the fire started.
