PHOENIX – A man has been arrested in the hit and run death of a wheelchair-bound man in Phoenix.

Phoenix police arrested 67-year-old William H. Hall on Thursday at about 11 a.m. at his home for allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

William Schommer, 61, was killed near 12th Street and Hatcher.

Detectives made the arrest following interviews with witnesses. The Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Detectives developed a probable cause to arrest Hall after combing through evidence.

The victim was in a motorized scooter when he was struck by a Jeep Laredo on January 4. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses were able to provide a license plate number for the suspect’s vehicle and the car was found a short time later.
