BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a man killed in a small plane crash in the desert near the Boulder City airport.
The Clark County coroner's office says Brett Dean Beuckens (BYOO'-kens) of Queen Creek, Ariz., died in the Friday crash.
The 45-year-old Beuckens was the only person on the plane. No one on the ground was injured.
Officials say the plane came from Deer Valley Airport in Phoenix and was traveling to Henderson.
They say Beuckens was above Lake Mead in the Beechcraft BE35 Bonanza when he made a distress call to the airport saying he was running out fuel.
The plane crashed south of the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
