Diamondbacks announce new contracts with 24 players

TUCSON —  The following is a  press release from the Arizona Diamondbacks:

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today they have agreed to terms on one-year contracts for the 2010 season with 22 pre-arbitration players and renewed the contracts for right-handed pitcher Ian Kennedy and third baseman Mark Reynolds, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President & General Manager Josh Byrnes. Consistent with team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The 22 players to agree to one-year contracts include pitchers Bryan Augenstein, Billy Buckner, Juan Gutierrez, Zach Kroenke, Jose Marte, Roque Mercedes, Kevin Mulvey, Jordan Norberto, Daniel Stange, Cesar Valdez, Esmerling Vasquez and Clay Zavada; infielders Tony Abreu, Brandon Allen, Pedro Ciriaco, Ryan Roberts and Rusty Ryal; outfielders Cole Gillespie and Gerardo Parra; and catcher John Hester.
