TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Tucson police are holding a 36-year-old man following a five hour standoff Wednesday morning inside a westside apartment complex.
The incident happened at Riverview Boulevard and Gila Street near I-10 and Speedway Boulevard.
Dozens of Tucson police and SWAT team members surrounded the apartment complex as they tried to negotiate with the man they believed was armed.
Tucson police were concerned because a woman and two children were inside the apartment unit. Police managed to get them out safely.
Neighbors told KOLD TV the incident began around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when they saw a man outside making noise and waving around a gun.
