Wet winter can mean a dangerous summer

PHOENIX – You may have noticed Arizona is looking a lot greener than normal.

The reason is all the rain we have been getting this year. While we need the moisture, Phoenix firefighters say having so much greenery could be bad news once the heat returns and wildfire season begins.

A Phoenix Fire spokesperson explains, “That could threaten your yard, especially if you have a wooden fence. We want you to keep it clear, keep low vegetation and keep your weeds down at least 30 feet away from your house."

Wildfire season usually kicks off around May in Arizona.
