Nieghborhood police presencePosted: Updated:
At least one person says it's the worst area to live in, in Tucson. Historically, the 29th St. corridor on Tucson's southeast side has had lots of crime. Police are hoping more of their presence in the area could change that.
Police spent almost eight hours in the area from 22nd St. to Golf Links, Alvernon to Kolb getting to know neighbors and the area. They say they didn't choose to deploy here for any specific reason. But some people think they should have.
One thing police say they need people in this area to do is reach out to police, call if they see suspicious behavior -- and not be afraid to do that. More deployments will be happening in other areas, but police don't yet know where or when.
