Haircuts for Haiti: Phoenix cosmetology school offers $5 clips for a cause

PHOENIX -- Now through March 31, 2010, the Maricopa Skill Center’s (MSC) Cosmetology Schools will donate 100% of proceeds from haircuts to aid relief efforts for Haiti’s earthquake victims. Haircuts will be offered at a reduced rate of $5.00 during the fundraiser, and proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army's Haiti Relief Program.

“Everyone wins with the Haircuts for Haiti program,” said Ellen Gallagher, Manager of MSC’s Cosmetology Schools. “Funding will be sent to those in need, our customers will enjoy a discount, and our students can make a difference in peoples’ lives one haircut at a time,” Gallagher said.

The fundraiser takes place at Maricopa Skill Center’s main campus, 1245 East Buckeye Road in Phoenix, and the Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) Cutting Edge Style Academy, 7565 West Peoria Road in Peoria. Appointments are available.  Call 602-238-0068 to book at Maricopa Skill Center or 623-979-9883 for appointments at West-MEC's Cutting Edge Style Academy.
