CAMP VERDE – A Camp Verde man is accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl while working at a golf resort.

Yavapai County sheriff’s deputies arrested 61-year-old Michael Taylor on Monday. He reportedly admitted to sexual physical contact with the teen victim, who is an acquaintance of his, during questioning with detectives.

The girl’s mother contacted YCSO after her daughter confided in her about the sexual abuse allegations involving Taylor.

During police questioning, the teen victim said Taylor had sexually molested her on February 26 during his shift at the Sedona Golf Resort where he does janitorial work. The girl had reportedly accompanied him on his shift that night.

Taylor allegedly grabbed the girl’s arms at one point and began talking about “sexual matters” before touching her with sexual intent. The girl was able to break free and run away.

Detectives say Taylor previously attempted sex and molestation with another victim in October of last year. He also worked as a bus driver for the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District but is currently not working pending the outcome of this investigation.

Taylor was interviewed on Monday while in custody at the Camp Verde Detention Center and admitted to sexual physical contact with the 13-year-old victim. He faces sexual abuse and luring a minor for sexual exploitation charges and is being held on $500,000 bond.
