SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton missed regular drills at spring training on Thursday because of a sore left shoulder.

Hamilton was hurt when he dived for a ball during a pop-up drill Wednesday morning. He iced the shoulder much of the rest of the day.

He says he simply lost his balance. The 29-year-old Hamilton officially is listed as day-to-day.

Hamilton was limited to 89 games last year by injuries. He hit .268 with 10 homers and 54 RBIs a year after hitting 32 home runs and leading the AL with 130 RBIs.
