Host Bob Lee interviews Jonathan Peck, the new President, & CEO of the Tucson Urban League.   Peck was named to the position in January.

Peck says it is his vision to continue to provide quality services and programs to the Tucson community and improve and expand the agency’s ability to impact system change through advocacy and organizing. By doing so, he says, we will empower our communities and change lives.  He says he wants the agency to continue to be a source of inspiration and hope for the children, youth and families of Tucson.

Peck says the Tucson Urban League has been a moving force in creating change for minorities.  He says the agency provides comprehensive housing counseling services, including homebuyer education, mortgage delinquency and default counseling, and renter assistance counseling. He says the agency is also a comprehensive resource and employment center that focuses on preparing clients for placement in the competitive job market.

Peck says the Intel Computer Clubhouse is operating again, serving youth residing in the South Par, Western Hills, Pueblo Gardens and Las Vistas neighborhoods.  He says the program offers computer software for creative and scientific exploration in a safe and nurturing environment.
