Woman killed at NHRA event from Wis.

RICE LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- The woman killed at a suburban Phoenix race track over the weekend is being remembered by co-workers in northern Wisconsin as a good friend who will be deeply missed.

Fifty-two-year-old Susan Zimmer was in the crowd for the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler Sunday when a tire flew off a crashing dragster and struck her. She died later at a hospital.

Dentist Dave Wilson said Tuesday Zimmer had been a receptionist and dental assistant at his practice in Rice Lake for the past 12 years. Wilson says Zimmer was a fun-loving friend with an infectious laugh. Zimmer was visiting her son and friends in Arizona at the time of her death.

Wilson says Zimmer's husband, Jim, was a Rice Lake firefighter who died of cancer in February 2008.
