APACHE JUNCTION - A teacher at Apache Junction High School behind bars for having allegedly having sexual conduct with a student.

Johnathan Krieger, 47, was arrested early this morning by Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Krieger has been a teacher since 2002 teaching science and German and has been at Apache Junction since 2005.

Krieger, also known as John Snell and Johnathan Raye, has also been a teacher at Sequoia Charter School in Mesa and Apache Trail High School in Apache Junction.

Detectives had been investigating what they believed to have been a relationship between Krieger and a sixteen-year-old student.

Warrants were issued to include a search warrant to seize a personal computer at the high school.

"Sex crimes against our children will not be tolerated. Our Sheriff's Office will aggressively investigate these reported crimes and pursue justice for our most vulnerable victims. Sexual predators must be stopped," said Sheriff Paul Babeu.

Krieger is being held in the Pinal County Adult Detention Facility in Florence on $250,000 bond.
