Man wanted in Maricopa for trying to lure childrenPosted: Updated:
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) -- Maricopa police are warning parents to be on the lookout for a man seen trying to lure children into a van with promises of candy.
Police in the town south of Phoenix are investigating three incidents, all of which occurred in the Villages at Rancho El Dorado subdivision on Feb. 10, 12 and 13.
Police said a man offered children between the ages of 9 and 13 candy while driving a blue or gray vehicle.
Two reports had the vehicle as a van, while the third had it as a Ford Expedition.
Maricopa police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Judd said a 10-year-old boy described the man as having dark hair and repeatedly yelled at the boy to get in his vehicle.
Judd said police have increased patrols in the area.
