PHOENIX -- Four children were hospitalized after being burned at a home near 47th Avenue and Thomas Road.
Phoenix Fire Department officials said that the children were playing with matches outside while their parents were indoors. The children allegedly added a highly-flammable liquid to an open flame burning in a barrel, which caused the fire to flare up.
One 10-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and a 7-year-old girl was hospitalized in serious condition. A 9-year-old-boy and a 6-year-old girl are expected to be be OK.
The children were taken to Maricopa County Medical Center.
