SCOTTSDALE – More than a dozen homes near 68th Street and McDowell have been robbed and ransacked in the last few months.

3TV spoke to six different people who say their homes have been broken into over the last six months and they are supposedly just a portion of the people that have been victimized lately.

Cristiano Augugliaro was robbed just two weeks ago. There used to be a much bigger television where a small one now sits. He explains, “They steal the 50-inch flat screen."

They take the watch and the TV." He says the burglars made their way inside by busting down the back door and ripping it off the frame.

When the criminals broke into Nancy Weason's house she says they came through the doggy door, which she has now bricked up.

Brent Moody was also robbed. He says, “Yeah, it seems like every week you hear about another house that has been broken into."

The robberies have almost always happened during the day and while homeowners are away at work.

Worried about the safety of his wife and two children, Moody says he has since taken extra security measures and added a more high-tech security system and re-enforced his doorways.

A lot of people say they have been adding extra security or trying to stay home more.
