PHOENIX -- A 23-year-old Phoenix man was arrested after he reportedly engaged in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old in Prescott Valley.
On Feb. 7, the teen's father told Prescott Valley police that his daughter possibly had sexual contact with a Phoenix man she met online.
According to police spokesman Brandon Bonney, an investigation revealed that Sergio "Serge" Barrera met the victim on a social networking site and eventually set a meeting at a Prescott Valley motel where he reportedly engaged in sexual conduct with her.
On Feb. 9, detectives were able to catch up to Berrera in the Phoenix area where he was taken into custody.
Bonney said Barrera made several incriminating statements about his involvement with the victim.
Barrera was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail for two counts of molestation of a child.
Detectives said there could be other victims involved in this case.
