MESA - The woman who attacked a clerk with a tire iron in September 2009 was sentenced to five years in prison today.
Karla Jauregui, 22, was convicted of armed robbery and aggravated assault after she was caught on tape repeatedly hitting a clerk in the head with a tire iron. She said she was forced to rob the Name Brand Exchange store in Mesa because of financial troubles.
Jauregui was studying criminal justice at Arizona State University at the time.
