Suspect arrest in Tucson bank robberyPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Tucson police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery last week and an attempted heist last month.
Police said Monday that 36-year-old Harry Leroy Hildenband has been booked into the Pima County Jail on one count each of armed robbery and attempted robbery.
Authorities allege Hildenband entered a Bank of America branch on Jan. 7 and demanded money from the teller. However, the teller was unable to understand what Hildenband was saying and he left without getting any money.
On Feb. 3, police say Hildenband entered a Chase Bank branch and presented the teller a note demanding money. The note implied he was armed with a weapon. Police say Hildenband left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say a tip to the 88-Crime program led them to Hildenband.
