MESA - A suspicious device found in a student's backpack forced a lock down at Red Mountain High School.

Police were called and the bomb squad was brought in to analyze the device. The bomb squad used a robot to inspect the device.

After the device was determined to not be a real bomb or explosive the lock down at the school was lifted.

Students were allowed to return to class around 1:00 p.m.

No word on if police have identified the student who brought the device on to campus.

The investigation continues into the situation.
