Man wounded in early morning shooting, 4 suspects on the loosePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- An early morning altercation in a Phoenix neighborhood ended in a shooting that put one man in the hospital Thursday.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. in the area near Central Avenue and Buckeye Road.
The victim was driving in the neighborhood when he got into some kind of altercation with four men in another vehicle. It's not yet known just what led up that altercation.
At some point, at least one of those suspects pulled a gun, shooting the victim twice in the stomach. The men then left the scene in the victim's car.
The victim, whose name has not been released, actually went door-to-door through the neighborhood, trying to find help. Police were called out after he started banging on residents' doors.
The man was rushed to the hospital. His condition was not immediately available, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
While police are searching for the four suspects, they have very little in the way of a description. All they know for sure is that suspects are black males and they were initially driving a red pickup truck.
The victim's car, which was stolen, is a gray 2003 Toyota coupe.
Anybody who might have information about this incident is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department.
