SCOTTSDALE – Police have one man in custody and are looking for a woman who is also a suspect in a case involving a shooting and a drug deal gone bad.
Police were looking for Jeremy James Bierly who they say was involved in a drug deal that ended in a shooting in Mesa on January 15 near 80th Street and Apache Trail.
A search warrant was served at a home in Scottsdale on Tuesday near 74th Street and Miller where police caught up with Bierly and took him into custody.
Investigators say Bierly got into an argument over a drug deal with another man. They both had guns and shot each other. The man at the home was shot four times and Bierly was shot once but was able to flee the scene.
Now detectives are looking for a second suspect identified as 27-year-old Crystal Lynn Barrett. She was allegedly with Bierly at the time of the shooting. She is described as being about 5’7” tall and weighing about 120 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes and is considered armed and dangerous.
Both Bierly and Barrett face charges of aggravated assault and other drug-related charges.
Anyone with information on Barrett’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (602) 876-1000 or (602) 876-3774.
