PHOENIX – With weather clear across most of the state on Sunday, the Arizona National Guard is now working quickly to get supplies to areas in need after the massive winter storms.

The supply trucks rolled into the Papago Park Military reservation empty on Sunday afternoon to fill back up with all sorts of supplies needed in northern Arizona.

Along with Show Low, supplies will also be heading to other parts of the state. The Navajo Nation president is asking for help after many of its residents have been stranded inside their homes because of recent snowfall.

The Arizona Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) activated the state incident management team to coordinate humanitarian efforts on the Hopi and Navajo Nation.

ADEM is working with the Arizona Department of Housing to help assess the damages in Black Canyon City and other places so that temporary housing can be arranged for those in need.

It is still recommended that motorists avoid travel to Northern Arizona until weather conditions improve. For further information on road conditions across the state, you can call 511 or go to www.az511.gov.

Another storm is expected to come through Arizona on Tuesday. ADEM recommends that everyone take the following basic emergency preparations:

-Prepare a plan
-Make a kit
-Be informed
