AVONDALE – Two teenagers are in custody a little over a month after an armed robbery at an Avondale restaurant.

Police have arrested 18-year-old Pedro Segovia-Montijo and 16-year-old Jared Garcia after an armed robbery at Ed’s Fish and Chips on December 17.

Detectives developed leads during their investigation that led them to question Garcia on January 15. He reportedly admitted to his involvement in the armed robbery during questioning and was detained at the Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Center.

Detectives contacted Montijo on Wednesday for questioning and he too admitted to committing the armed robbery, according to police. He was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail.

Both teens face charges of armed robbery.
