MESA – Two women and a baby were rescued from a van after it went into a canal on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened near Val Vista and Williams Field Road at about 5 p.m.

3TV has learned a 14-month-old child was in the car, as well as the 35-year-old mother and 65-year-old grandmother, all of whom were reportedly rescued by an officer and a Good Samaritan who were in the area.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. It is still unclear why the driver lost control of the van.
