SCOTTSDALE -- As happens every time it rains, the Indian Bend Wash -- which is Osborn Road between Miller and Hayden roads -- was flooded Wednesday morning. And, of course, somebody already has tried to drive through it and gotten stuck.

Marvin Allen said the barricades were just being set up when he was driving through. He opted to go for it and the rushing water was a bit much for his Scion.

Allen made it most of the way across. A passer-by then helped him push his car off the road so he did not require rescuing.

Water on the road is often deeper and faster moving than it might appear.

If you do go around any barricades to drive through a flooded wash and get stuck, you could be responsible for the costs of your rescue under the so-called "Stupid Motorist Law."
