Teen found after running away from Tempe school

TEMPE -- The Tempe Police Department received a telephone call Sunday from a person advising they believed they saw Ian in the area of Mill Avenue and Alameda Drive. The caller was able to recognize Ian because they attend the same place of worship.

At approximately 8:55 p.m., Tempe police patrol officers located Ian in the 2400 block of South Mill Avenue. He was found to be in good condition and was reunited with his family.

TEMPE -- Police officers are looking for a teen who ran away from a Tempe middle school Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Tempe Police Department, Ian Johns ran away from McKemy Middle School at Mill and College avenues at approximately 3 p.m.

The 14-year-old suffers from severe behavioral disorders and takes prescribed medications without which he can become a danger to himself and others.

Police say his family has only been in the area for the past month and he is not believed to have any money.

Ian is described as Caucasian, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt, tan pants, brown belt and brown-and-white Vans tennis shoes.
