SURPRISE – A man is under arrest after allegedly pointing a gun at someone and then forcing a woman out of a home and kidnapping her for a short time.

Police responded to a home in the 16000 block of North Factory Street in Surprise on Monday afternoon after receiving a report of a man with a gun.

When officers arrived at the home they were told 39-year-old Cerapio Gonzales had arrived at the house, pointed a gun at one person at the door and then forced his way inside and “physically removed a female occupant.”

The 29-year-old victim was released a short time later and was not hurt. Police later discovered she had a protective court order against the suspect.

The victim had reportedly been assaulted by Gonzales a few days before the alleged kidnapping. He surrendered to authorities on Tuesday and is currently in jail facing charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and obstruction of justice.
