Teen arrested for 2-year-old burglary at Prescott Valley church

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -- Prescott Valley police officers arrested a teen for a burglary at a church two years ago.
Sgt. Brandon Bonney said unknown suspects broke a glass door and other items at the Open Door Baptist Church on Feb. 22, 2007. They also wrote profanities on a wall and a dry erase board inside the building.
Officers collected physical evidence but had no leads at the time.
Bonney said police detectives recently received information on a fingerprint hit from the state. One of the fingerprints located at the scene came back to Nathan Shepherd of Prescott Valley.
Shepherd, who is now 18, was interviewed by detectives and reportedly admitted involvement in the offense.
Shepherd was booked into the Yavapai County Jail for aggravated criminal damage and burglary.
Investigators believe that other suspects were involved in this case.
