Elderly man dies after arm is ripped off by farm equipmentPosted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE -- An 80-year-old man is dead after losing part of his arm in an industrial accident late Thursday morning.
It happened at the Mike Wood Precision Horse Ranch in the area of 144th Street and Dixeleta Drive.
According to Rural Metro Fire Department, the man was digging post holes when he got his arm caught in an auger, a large drill, and his arm was amputated at the shoulder.
The worker was air-lifted to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
