AVONDALE - Avondale police identify charred body found in a trailer fire back on September 28 and are now looking for who may have committed the homicide.

The Avondale Fire Department responded to a trailer fire just after midnight at 221 S. Central Space #49.

After extinguishing the trailer fire, firefighters discovered the unidentified man and police began their investigation into the apparent homicide.

A few personal items of the victim were unsuccessfully identified, but on December 23, DNA finding from the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Lab positively matched the body to DNA samples from possible family members who had filed a missing persons report.

The victim was identified as Abelino Hernandez Sanson.

Avondale police released two photos of Hernandez with the hope someone will come forward with information on the fire or the last person to see Abelino on September 28. If you have any information that could assist police please contact Detective David Jones of the Avondale Police Department, Criminal Investigations Bureau at 623-333-7227.
