First American Home Warranty to open Phoenix call center, 100+ jobs available

PHOENIX -- First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation, a home warranty company, is opening a call center in Phoenix, bringing with it more than 100 new jobs by this March and a total of 400 within two years.

The company, which is part of the First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) group of companies, made the announcement Monday.

The vice president of the company cited the city's technical infrastructure, convenience, and access to a large labor pool in First American's decision to move to the Valley of the Sun.

“First American’s 100 new jobs and plans for hundreds more in Phoenix is a great way to start off the New Year,” said Mayor Phil Gordon in a news release from First American. “Phoenix is an ideal location for any company to prosper and grow.”

And growth is exactly what First American is planning. With the intent of opening its call center on March 1, 2010, First American says it hopes to create as many as 300 more jobs over the next two years.

“This is a great win for the city of Phoenix and for the Valley,” said Barry Broome, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, in the same release. “With their plan to bring 400 jobs in the next 24 months, First American is providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.”

The center will support incoming calls from more than 400,000 warranty customers in 35 states. The company says it responds to nearly 1 million customer service requests per year.
