Christmas babys arrival surprises Phoenix familyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Christmas Day has new meaning for one Valley family.
"My relatives were just literally coming and knocking on the back door when my wife called me from the back bedroom and said, 'Honey, I think my water just broke!'" Ron Donnally said.
Ron Donnally and his wife Stephanie Vitanza let the family in, and then took off for Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. Stephanie was hoping she'd get checked out and then be able to return home.
“[We were] planning to go home and spend a nice relaxing Christmas Eve, and then have her arrive later," Stephanie said. "But she had other plans!”
Baby Grier showed up just after midnight, weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces.
"We have to make sure that we keep it special for her, because Christmas is a special time anyway, but that we celebrate her birthday in extra special ways so that she knows we are very glad to have her arrive on this day," Stephanie said.
