PHOENIX -- Rescuers responded to a drowning call at Phoenix home Tuesday morning after a 15-year-old autistic boy was found in a bathtub.
It happened shortly before 9:30 in the area of 41st Avenue and Happy Valley Road.
According to Alex Rangel of the Phoenix Fire Department, the teen usually bathes by himself. This morning, his parents were away for about five minutes, and when they checked on him, they noticed he was under water.
The father pulled the boy from the tub and immediately began CPR.
The teen was in very serious condition when he was air-lifted to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Fire personnel called to the home believe the incident might have been medically related.
