Flagstaff man accused of stabbing girlfriend with broken beer bottle

FLAGSTAFF – A 29-year-old Flagstaff man was arrested for allegedly trying to cut his girlfriend’s throat with a broken beer bottle.

Police were called to an address on Brannen Circle at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday. A woman there told police she and her boyfriend were arguing when he broke a beer bottle and attempted to cut her throat. There were severe lacerations on the victim’s face and neck, according to police, and she had defensive wounds to her hand.

Officers later found and arrested Benver Whitegoat. He was booked into Coconino County jail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, assault and disorderly conduct.
